An indictment is a formal accusation that a person has committed a felony crime. It's issued by a panel of judges after they review the evidence and determine if there's enough basis to bring charges. While an indictment is a serious matter, it doesn't automatically mean that the individual charged will go to jail. A trial follows an indictment wh
